Synopsis: A personal and vibrant coming of age story
about a young artist's determination never to surrender to the bleakness of her
surroundings.

2008, The Fine’s received a nomination for Documentary Feature, for War
Dance.
Inocente has already won the Arizona International
Film Festival and San Antonio Film Festival.

Sari Gilman – 1st nomination.

Jedd Wider – 1st nomination.
Synopsis: A documentary on five seniors living in a
retirement resort in Florida - men and women who came decades ago with their
spouses by their sides, and now find themselves grappling with love, loss and
the universal desire for human connection.
Nominated
for Best Short by the International Documentary Association. This nomination came last year and lost to
last year’s Oscar winner Saving Face.

Mondays at Racine

Cynthia Wade – 2nd nomination, 1 win for Freeheld
o
Robin Honan – 1st nomination.
Synopsis:
Every third Monday of the month, two
bold, brassy sisters open the doors of their Long Island hair salon to women
diagnosed with cancer.
Like
Kings
Point, Mondays at Racine was also nominated for Best Short by the International
Documentary Association.
So
far, Mondays
at Racine has won the Boston Independent Film Festival and Silverdocs
Documentary Festival.

Open Heart

Kief Davidson – 1st nomination.

Cori Shepard Stern – 1st nomination.
Synopsis: Eight Rwandan children leave their families
behind to embark on a life-or-death journey seeking high-risk heart surgery in
Sudan.
Open
Heart is the 3rd
film in this year’s field to lose to Saving Face at last year’s International
Documentary Association Awards.

Redemption

Jon Alpert – 2nd nomination.
o
Matthew O’Neill – 2nd nomination.
Synopsis: Redemption is a documentary about New York
City's canners - the men and women who survive by redeeming bottles and cans
they collect from curbs, garbage cans and apartment complexes.
Alpert
and O’Neill were nominated in 2010 for their short doc China’s Unnatural Disaster: The
Tears of Sichuan Province.
